CAMS Training Options in 2019

Webinars

Never attended a CAMS Webinar? Curious about CAMSv7.2? Why not check out our new Recorded Webinars page where we’ve uploaded a recording of our final 2018 session (What’s new in CAMS 7.2?). We’ll continue to upload recordings of all our 2019 series so keep your eyes on this page for future videos.

CAMS Webinars are online presentations where we focus on specific features of CAMS in more detail. Whilst they are not intended to substitute our more comprehensive courses, these sessions have proved popular and offer a chance to join a broader discussion about how these features can be used to make life a little easier for you or members of your team.

The first webinar in our 2019 program is available for booking now. The first topic being covered is ‘Public Fault Reporting in CAMS Web’ on the 12th February. You can register for the session using this link. We’ll send through another reminder the week before the session is due to start.

We will be using Skype for Business to present all our Webinar sessions this year. If you would like to test your ability to connect ahead of the session, please contact a member of the CAMS team or reply to this email. The latest guidance on joining a session will always be available on our How to join a CAMS Webinar page on CAMS Docs.

If you would like to suggest a future topic or have any feedback concerning our webinar series please let us know.

*New for 2019 Remote Courses*

We are now offering remote training courses as another way to save on travel costs. We have a copy of CAMS installed on a server we can offer access to. You can spend a few hours running through different aspects of training with a tutor to guide you and answer any questions. We’ll use screen sharing facilities to see what you are working on and demonstrate exercises for you to repeat.

Remote training is best offered on a 1 to 1 basis but we are happy to provide group training depending on needs. Please contact us if this might be of interest to you.

Costs: Varies with requirements. Speak to your CAMS consultant. We have an ongoing discount available whilst we explore this new training medium.

Workshop Courses

One of the highest training costs for some organisations can be traveling long distance. To alleviate this, we have previously conducted workshop courses across different regions of the country. If you are interested in training but cannot justify the cost for your team, please let us know. Providing we can find one or more nearby organisations to you a shared training day at a local destination can be organised and your travel costs lowered or eliminated.

Costs: Varies with numbers. Speak to your CAMS consultant.

Standard Courses

Our hosted courses here on the edge of the Brecon Beacons are designed to appeal to Rights of Way officers at any experience level. We offer several courses tailored to the different roles and responsibilities in your team.

CAMS V7.2 now in development

Work has started on the release of CAMS V7.2 which is scheduled for the Summer of 2018. It is planned that this release will include improvements and new functionality in a number of key areas. The biggest improvement will be the ability to drag & drop photos, documents and other files directly into CAMS records to link them via LibraryLink. Other planned improvements will focus on results trees, My Tasks and Volunteer Management as well as features to assist with Data Protection requirements and exchanging data with the NSG.

Please contact your CAMS consultant for further information.

Google Publishes National Trail on Street View

The North Downs National Trail is the first of the trails to be captured into Google’s Street View and other Trails will follow soon. Many of the country’s promoted routes and national trails are managed using CAMS and the extension of Street View beyond the road network is one of the reasons we have integrated Street View with the latest version of CAMS.

To see the North Downs Street View use the link below and then drag the Street View icon (yellow person) onto the blue line of the trail when it appears.
